Career & Industry-Based Certifications
Lighthouse Public Schools is now offering multiple pathways for students to receive an industry-based certification upon completion of high school. With these programs, once a student graduates, they are ready to go straight into the workforce. The curriculum and programs offer a sequence of courses that provides students with coherent and rigorous content aligned with the relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for employment into a career profession.
Currently, LPS offers two career pathways (see details below).
Option 1: Certified Nursing Assistant

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program

Educational Aide I Certification
An Educational Aide I performs routine tasks under the direction of a certified teacher, assisting with clerical operations, supervising students, preparing instructional materials, and duplicating materials, all while releasing the teacher from routine duties.
LPS offers the following services at no cost to the student to meet the Educational Aide I requirements
- Coursework to consist of Human Growth and Development, Child Development, Child Guidance, and Instructional Practices
- Pay the cost of the required fingerprinting and background check
- Complete observation and internship hours in classrooms
Requirements for Students Interested in the Program:
- Continuously enrolled with LPS.
- Graduation Endorsement of Education and Training
- Pass a fingerprint background check
- Picture ID
- Complete High School Graduation Requirements
