2024 Summer Boost Program
Summer Boost is a partnership between Lighthouse Public Schools and Bloomberg Philanthropies supporting learning acceleration in English Language Arts and math while providing fun enrichment activities in Art, Music, and Theater. Art, Music, and Theater will be preparing for a performance/presentation for families and the community at the end of the Summer Boost program on Friday, June 28, 2024.
This year, Lighthouse Public Schools is proud to launch Summer Boost for students entering 1st through 9th grades.
Program Model:
- Students in 1st through 9th grade (2024 Kindergarten and 8th grade students)
- 20 Days of Summer Programming (Monday - Friday in June 2024)
- Core Focus: English Language Arts & Math
- Enrichment Options: Art, Music/Choir Performance, Theater/Musical Performance
- Social Emotional Learning will focus on Teamwork, Responsibility, Relationship Building, and Conflict Resolution
- Includes free breakfast and lunch each day
Student Eligibility:
Summer Boost will only be able to host 15 students at each grade level. Students must apply to attend. APPLICATION IS OPEN NOW.
- All students are eligible to apply.
- Grade Levels: 1st - 9th Grade (2024 Kindergarten - 8th)
Program Dates:
Begins on Monday June 3, 2024, and ends on Friday, June 28, 2024 (20 days). Program runs Monday through Friday. June 19th (Juneteenth) is a school day in this program and not a holiday. This is to ensure that the program is completed in June and does not interfere with July activities.
Families and students must commit to all 20 days of Summer Boost. Students must be currently enrolled in LPS or plan to enroll in LPS in the Fall of 2024. Students will be selected on a first come first serve based on the date and time of application submission. Families and students will be notified by May 17, 2024 of their participation. Notifications will be sent earlier for those that submit applications early.
