Student Dress Code/Código de vestimenta del estudiante

Sending our last reminder.  I want to thank you parents as we saw many of our students looking sharp in their uniforms today.  Let's please continue this going forward.   On Tuesday we will begin enforcing the dress code according to the handbook.

Dear Lighthouse Families,

Over the past few weeks we have not made any changes to the rules but we have changed the way we are enforcing the rules that have been in place since the beginning of the school year.  We needed to enforce these rules to make sure our focus goes to academics rather than student behaviors in the classroom.  There has been a huge improvement in students getting to classes on time as well as a significant decrease in the use of cell phones in classrooms.  Our push to focus on academics is to make sure we have the best learning environment for our children.  Our next focus this upcoming week will focus on our student dress code.  Please remember that Lighthouse Public Schools is a school uniform campus everyday, including Fridays.  If there is a special day in which students are allowed to wear something different such as casual or free dress, there will be an announcement sent home just like this message.  Other than that, students should not be in free dress or in jeans and are never allowed to wear crocs to school.  Please do not let your child tell you that they can wear whatever they want to school.  We will begin calling you in the morning if there is a violation of the dress code.  I will include the portion of the handbook that includes the uniform policy.

If we work together, school and families, I anticipate the problems with students out of dress code will quickly change just like the use of cells phones in the classroom.  We thank you all for your continued support.  Every parent who has come in to the school recently has been very supportive of the school and the following of the rules.  If you are having trouble obtaining uniforms for your child(ren) please give us a call and speak to someone on campus.  We do have a limited amount of uniform items for students who are having trouble obtaining these items.  You can reach out to Dr. Erica Martinez at Extension 2010 if you need help with uniform items.  If you have any other questions about the uniform or the requirements for each student please feel free to reach out to me at (210) 236-7693 or by email at [email protected]

Thank you Seahawks,
