Lighthouse Public Schools is a tuition-free charter school in San Antonio, Texas β€” home of the Seahawks. We opened in August 2003, and have degreed, certified, and highly qualified administrators, teachers, and paraprofessionals. All students are encouraged to excel in their academic studies through a variety of teaching methods. All students and staff are treated with dignity and respect in a safe environment.  Lighthouse Public Schools is also proud to be a 2024-2025 Texas Purple Star Designated District.

3rd-8th- Wednesday, 6/17

Parents should have received an email with your child/children's unique access codes. If you did not receive an email, it is because we didn't have one on file and the code was sent to your child's lighthouse email account.

Follow the steps below to access the test results:
1. Go to Texas Assessment Website
2. If not already on it, click on the student/families tab at the top of the page.
3. Scroll down until you see the "View Your Child's Test Results" and Family Portal Box on the right hand side.
4. Enter your unique access code and your child's other identifying information.

Your results should appear!

2025-2026 Registration is Open

Registration is now open for 2025-2026 school year. To guarantee your child a seat next year, please visit the link attached to re-enroll your child.
If you are familiar with the Parent Portal and your child is linked to your account you will be able to locate your child and click on "resume registration".
If you are not familiar with Parent Portal or need assistance, please contact Ms. Apolonia Bocanegra at 210-236-7693 Ext. 2006.She will be able to help you with any and all questions about pre-registration.

LPS is proud to offer two exciting Summer 2025 learning opportunities designed to support academic growth and student discovery!

Option 1: Camp Innovate 2025 (Grades K–6)
πŸ—“ June 9 – July 7, 2025 | πŸ•˜ 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM | 🍽 Free breakfast & lunch daily
πŸ“ For students entering Kindergarten–6th grade in the 2025–2026 school year

Camp Innovate offers a fun and engaging summer experience focused on Math and English skill-building through hands-on activities, daily discovery sessions, and off-campus field trips! Students grow academically while exploring real-world connections and making lasting memories.

Eligibility Requirements:
Planning to return for 2025–2026
Entering K–6th grade in 2025–2026 (current PreK–5th grade students)
Commitment to full attendance: June 9 – July 7 (20 days total; July 4 holiday)

Option 2: Summer STAAR Support Program (Grades 7–12)
πŸ—“ June 9 – June 20, 2025 | STAAR Retesting: June 23–27
πŸ“ For current 6th–12th grade students (2024–2025 school year)

This traditional summer program supports middle and high school students who did not pass their STAAR English or Math exams (grades 6–8) or STAAR EOC exams (English I, English II, Algebra I). The program provides targeted instruction to prepare students for STAAR retesting.

2025 Yearbooks Are Here!

2025 yearbooks are on sale for $25.00 starting Wednesday, June 4, 2025, while supplies last. We will be selling yearbooks during Carline/Dismissal time and also during MS/HS lunch. This is the first yearbook for LPS and it is amazing. Full color and great pictures. Congratulations to our LPS Yearbook Team for a great yearbook.

On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Freeman Coliseum, Mrs. Crystal Zavala earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Management from Texas A&M University–San Antonio.

Also on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Freeman Coliseum, Mr. Alex Gonzales received his Bachelor of Science in Education and Human Development with a focus in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University-San Antonio.

Setting Students Up for Success: College Ready

HS students who will be attending LPS in the Summer or Fall of 2025 can begin the application and registration process for dual credit courses with McMurry University April 7th. The dual credit program provides opportunities for students to receive college credit in high school at no cost. CNA Program Launch at LPS

Certified Nursing Assistant Program Launched

LPS is excited to announce a new partnership with Savant Achievement Center in San Antonio to provide an opportunity for high school students to receive a nationally recognized State of Texas Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate. This is the newest offering that LPS is rolling out to meet the needs and interest of students in career readiness. Program runs on a monthly basis with continuing enrollment options. The San Antonio Public Library (SAPL) offers a variety of programs and services tailored for children of all ages to support their educational and recreational needs. Here's an overview of what SAPL provides:

Early Childhood Services
For young children, SAPL offers early literacy programs designed to foster a love for reading and learning. These initiatives provide learning activities, information, and literacy materials to parents, extended family, and caregivers.

Programs and Activities
SAPL hosts a range of programs and activities for children, including:

Story Times: Interactive sessions where children can enjoy stories, music, and movement, enhancing their social, emotional, and language development.

Online Tutoring and Homework Help: Free access to professional tutors in various subjects for students from kindergarten through college. Tutors are available daily from 11 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. in both English and Spanish.

Read-Alongs: Books with built-in audio narration, perfect for young children learning to read in English or Spanish. These self-guided tools enhance literacy skills and are available at all SAPL locations.

Access to Digital Resources
SAPL provides access to various digital resources suitable for children, including e-books, audiobooks, and educational databases. These resources can be accessed using a library card, which is available for free to Bexar County residents.

BiblioTech
In addition to SAPL, Bexar County offers BiblioTech, the first all-digital public library in the United States. BiblioTech provides e-readers, digital content, online databases, educational resources, and programming suitable for children. With multiple branches across the county, BiblioTech serves as an additional resource for digital learning and reading materials.

These offerings ensure that children in San Antonio have access to a wide range of resources to support their learning and development.

On Thursday, February 27th, the 4th and 5th grade students gave their first recorder performance. After only a few short weeks of working on the recorder, they performed very well. Good Job Everyone!

Military Family Resources

Resources for Military Connected Families

LPS has developed a partnership with United Way here in San Antonio to provide resources and supports for military connected families. These resources and contact information has been updated on our website. LPS values our service members and families. We strive to be the premier school of choice for all families in San Antonio.
Dress Code Pic

Daily Dress Code Announcement

We have gone through several weeks with cold and winter weather along with a special dress day for school choice week. However, beginning Monday, February 2, 2025, normal dress code will be enforced each day. Failure to meet dress code will result in students not being permitted to remain at school. The school does not provide alternate clothing if their attend school out of dress code.
Key Things:
1. Monday - Thursday: Must wear Maroon Polo shirt with appropriate pants. This means NO jeans/denim of any color and no school spirt shirts (only on Fridays). MUST be the maroon Polo shirt. No sweat pants or athletic/yoga pants.
2. Closed toe-shoes. No slides, flip flops, corc's, sandals, slip on shoes, house-shoes, etc. Tennis shoes are what is recommended each day.

Dress code rules have not changed. These are the same expectations since the first day of the school year. Compliance is required each day at school.

Lighthouse Public Schools Receives Purple Star Designation from the Governor's Office

LPS is so honored and humbled! We were the only School of Choice that was within ESC-20 selected by the Governor's Office! We hold in greatest esteem our military families and vow to do everything possible to support their families in education. We are moving forward to make Lighthouse Public Schools the PREMIER SCHOOL OF CHOICE FOR OUR FAMILIES in Bexar County and San Antonio.
