High School Science Teacher
Hello and welcome! I’m Mr. Trickett, and I’m proud to serve as a high school science instructor at Lighthouse Public Schools. I currently teach Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Integrated Physics and Chemistry (IPC). Although this is my first year in the classroom, I bring over 15 years of experience working in technical, mechanical, and industrial fields. I spent a decade serving aboard submarines in the U.S. Navy as an auxiliary mechanic and later worked in the energy and utility industries, giving me a strong foundation in real-world applications of science and engineering.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Systems from the University of the Incarnate Word and am currently working toward my Texas Teacher Certification. My professional training includes certifications in Environmental Protection and Universal Refrigerant Handling, as well as advanced training in hydraulics, oxygen generation systems, hazardous materials management, crane operation, blueprint reading, and submarine-level quality assurance. I also completed two Department of Labor-certified industrial mechanic apprenticeships and am a certified scuba diver.
I believe students learn best when they can explore, experiment, and connect what they’re learning to the real world. My classroom is built around hands-on learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving. I aim to create a space where curiosity is encouraged and every student feels empowered to engage with science in a meaningful way.
Outside the classroom, I’m a proud father of four—with another on the way. I enjoy building things, tinkering with mechanical systems, and constantly learning how things work. I bring that same energy and curiosity into my teaching, and I’m excited to share it with my students throughout the year.
