Welcome! My name is Ms. Rosa M. Perez, and I’m excited to be your child’s 2nd grade reading teacher. I bring over 20 years of teaching experience, specializing in early childhood through elementary education with a focus on reading, writing, and math.

As a bilingual educator fluent in English and Spanish, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of students, including bilingual and ESL learners. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (EC–4) from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis in ESL.

Throughout my career, I’ve served as a lead teacher, mentor, and interventionist. I believe in creating a warm, supportive environment where students feel confident and capable. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing a student’s eyes light up when a new concept clicks! My teaching approach is individualized and growth-focused, ensuring each child receives the support they need to succeed.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending weekends with friends and family, watching movies, and reading a good book. I look forward to a wonderful school year and can’t wait to support your child on their reading journey!
