Mrs. Adnan, Section 504 Coordinator & Dyslexia Interventionist
Hello, I'm Mrs. Adnan and I graduated from St. Mary's University where I originally majored in Business Marketing. In 2013, I began my teaching career in South Korea for 3 amazing years. I came back in 2016 and became certified to teach in Texas. I have been with Lighthouse my entire Texas teaching career which is going on year 10.
This year is my fourth year as Lighthouse's Dyslexia Interventionist as well as Section 504 Coordinator.
I am trained and certified in TEA Recognized Dyslexia Programs Including;
- Reading by Design
- Wilson Reading System
- Scottish Rite JET Program
In 2023, as a 1st grade teacher, I received the exemplary designation under the Teacher Incentive Allotment for my performance and student growth.
In 2024, I was chosen for TEA's Teacher Leadership Fellowship and will be in my third year as a fellow this school year.
In December of 2024, I also achieved National Board Certification in the Area of Literacy.
When off the clock, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my four year old son.
