Teacher Introduction

Hello, I’m Mr. Woods, and I am excited to join the Lighthouse Team as a new kindergarten teacher. 2025 marks my first year in education, beginning in February as an Instructional Assistant and in August as a first-time teacher. I have assisted with all grade levels between Pre-K to 5th grade, but my experience in education has been focused on Kindergarten. 

I hold my B.A. in Psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio and I am currently enrolled in Texas State University for the completion of my teacher certification. As an emerging educator, I aspire to uphold my values of creativity, compassion, and community in the classroom. The beauty of humanity comes from the convergence of neighboring minds. While the uniqueness in our backgrounds and identity may differentiate one person from another, education shall be one of clearest paths towards equity and equality. My teaching philosophy is written with the artistry I wield in each discipline. 

My personal interests include mix-media visual art, poetry, music, crocheting, and design.
