Background

My name is Winston Aguilar. I will be teaching different types of history at the high School and I am very excited for the new year! This is my first year teaching at Light House Public School, and my 5th year in Education. 

 

I have a Bachelors in Arts degree in Psychology from Stephen F. Austin University.

I also have a Texas Teacher Certification to teach 7th -12th grade History.

I believe that in education the students should always come first and be the focus of everything that you do in the classroom. To me being in education means serving the needs of each student as they come. I strongly believe in the restorative practice when it comes to students discipline and would always try to figure out what is wrong and how to find solutions together. 

 

Some of the different classes that I have taught include Texas History, 8th grade U.S History, Word Geography, World History, 11th grade U.S History, U.S Government, and Economics. Out of all of these subjects, I would have to say my favorite is World History! 

 

In my free time I like to go running, hiking, and spending time with my family. I also enjoy listening to all types of music and traveling when I get the chance.
