Shannon Dugan

This is Miss Dugan’s fourth year at Lighthouse! She is originally from Connecticut where she earned a B.S. in Early Childhood Education and a B.A. in Psychology. She taught in North Carolina for two years; one as a kindergarten teacher at a charter school, and one as a pre-kindergarten special education teacher. Since joining the LPS team, she has taught Pre-kindergarten 3, Kindergarten, First Grade, and is moving to 3rd Grade for the 2025-2026 school year!

Miss Dugan has a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Reading and Literacy. She has worked to develop resources for teachers and families to use at home and at school. She has a passion for helping students to learn to read, and for helping families gain a greater access to books! She runs the Adopt a Student book drive each year that is designed to send every student from PK3-6th grade home with a nee book for the holiday season! 

She loves being at Lighthouse with all of the students, families, and staff; and cannot wait to see what this school year has in store!
