¡Hola y Bienvenidas Familias de Lighthouse!
Hello and welcome, Lighthouse families!!
My name is Begonia Serrato, as many of you already may know me as Mrs. B.
I am so excited to return as the Elementary Spanish Teacher for the 2026-2027
school year!
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish with a minor in Sociology from Texas A&M
University-San Antonio. I had the joy of working with students for over thirteen
years, including the last eight years with LPS - six as a Pre-K teacher/aide and one
as a Bilingual and ESL interventionist.
As a native Spanish speaker with my teaching experience, I am ready to help
students grow in their critical thinking skills. We will not forget to have fun with
games and songs as we explore the Spanish language together.
I believe that everybody deserves to learn in an environment where they feel welcome,
respected, inspired, and safe so they can feel empowered and reach their learning
potential.
A little bit of me: in my free time I enjoy being with my family, outdoor gardening,
traveling, handcrafts, and reading books that inspire me to be a better and
stronger person.
I look forward to an amazing school year!!
