Return from Winter Break

 Seahawk family;

Welcome to the new year as we enter 2022!

While we have been on winter break, please know we have been in close contact with the health conditions of our city regarding the Omicron variance and the rise in cases.  While classes will continue Monday, January 3rd, I want to ensure you we are doing everything possible to continue to stay safe and strong as a school.

I have encouraged all faculty and staff to get tested prior to our return to campus on Monday morning.  I myself have already been tested as well yesterday.  We will be opening the school for all faculty and staff at 7 am Monday to continue testing for any faculty and staff wanting testing.

I want to personally remind you

  • The use of facemasks is still strongly encouraged for all students, staff, and visitors while indoors.  We will provide all teachers and staff with KN95 masks.
  • If you or your child is symptomatic or ill, stay home and/or consult with your medical provider. Individuals who have confirmed cases of COVID-19 will be asked to isolate for a minimum of 5 days or until symptom-free. We will continue to ask that individuals living in the same home as a COVID-positive individual also remain isolated for 5 days depending on vaccination status. Review the City of San Antonio Metro Health District’s Health Advisory issued Dec. 28 for more information.
  • As a reminder, free COVID-19 testing is available from Metro Health at various locations and sites across the city. Appointments must be scheduled.
  • Strongly consider getting the COVID-19 vaccine for you and all eligible individuals in your home. Everyone ages 5 and up are now eligible for a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. You may call 311 for vaccine information and resources related to COVID-19.

In addition, custodial staff and teachers will continue to follow our cleaning and sanitizing protocols in all classrooms and shared spaces.

We want to continue keeping our students, faculty and staff safe and secure, so we can continue to offer quality instruction and learning.  We appreciate all your continued support and assistance.

Sincerely,

Superintendent
